Services
Therapeutic Massage: Therapeutic massage utilizes focused techniques to release adhesions (knots), trigger points, and tension. It helps to alleviate pain and misalignment, calms the nervous system, and assists in moving lymph throughout the body to assist in detoxing.
Deep Tissue: Utilizes slow, deep strokes to progressively get deeper into the muscles to release restrictions such as adhesions (knots) and trigger points. It helps to soften the muscles, increase blood flow, decrease pain and discomfort, and realign the body.
Therapeutic/Myofascial Release Combo: This session optimizes our time by combining therapeutic massage and myofascial release into one session. The first 30 minutes to one hour are spent using myofascial release techniques before moving on to the use of oil for therapeutic massage techniques. Combining these treatments helps to create a lot of functional change in the body.
Myofascial Release (MFR): Myofascial Release (MFR) is a technique used to target restrictions within the fascial system of the body. The fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds every organ, muscle, nerve, and blood vessel. MFR uses specific, prolonged holds on different areas of the body to create a "stretch" in the fascia. By holding these positions for extended periods of time it slowly releases the restrictions that the connective tissue is holding onto. Because the fascia is 3D and multidirectional, releasing restrictions in one area helps to assist in releasing restrictions in other areas of the fascia as well. The techniques used are most often gentle, but occasionally restrictions within the connective tissue require more direct and firm techniques. The therapist will adapt based on how the client's body is responding. This treatment requires the client to wear a swimsuit or something similar to allow the therapist access to the skin while still being able to watch the body for redness and other physiological responses.
Myofascial Release (MFR) Intensive: The Myofascial Release Intensive is a multi-session, multi-day process of using MFR to release restrictions trapped in the fascia of the body. Because of muscle memory, the body wants to go back to its previously held positions despite how unhelpful those alignments can be. It is the "two steps forward, one step back" reality of bodywork. Doing a myofascial release intensive allows us to minimize any "backward steps" to encourage the body to maintain better positioning and learn how to stay in a more functional and healthy position with each of its parts. During the intensive, the therapist and client will come up with a plan together to best optimize positive change in the fascia of the body. This includes a 4-view of photos to chart any dysfunction in the body as well as to track progress, and daily MFR treatments to prevent the body from falling back into dysfunctional holding patterns. Sessions are also discounted for the intensives to help offset costs. This treatment requires the client to wear a swimsuit or something similar to allow the therapist access to the skin while still being able to watch the body for redness and other physiological responses. Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD): Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a very gentle technique in which the therapist uses rhythmic contractions to help stimulate lymph capillaries, vessels, and nodes to help lymph flow to appropriate drainage sites within the body. This type of work is geared toward helping the lymphatic system produce and move lymph to assist the body in boosting immunity, decreasing swelling, and promoting pain relief.
Relaxation Massage: Relaxation massage is a gentle technique used to calm the nervous system, move lymph, and release tension within the body.
Prenatal Massage: Prenatal massage is a gentle treatment that is modified from traditional therapeutic massage to create a safe experience for pregnant people based on individual needs and complaints while being mindful of the changes that pregnancy has on the body. It assists in alleviating pain and discomfort associated with pregnancy while also being deeply relaxing for the parent-to-be.
Intuitive Massage: Intuitive massage is a very individual experience that combines therapeutic massage with energy work. The massage therapist uses their intuition to work with the mind, body, emotions, and spirit to help assist in creating a profoundly healing experience for the client. The therapist calls upon all of their knowledge and skills to bring in the modalities necessary to create the most change for the client. This could include energy work, guided meditation, breath work, or specific manual manipulations of the muscles and connective tissue.
Kids Massage: This is a massage intended for children, but with all the therapeutic benefits of massages for adults. It is 30 minutes long to accommodate shorter attention/movement spans and pressure for this session is also modified for the comfort of kids. Parents/Guardians are welcome to stay in the room to observe, ask questions, and be present during the session as well.
Energy Work (Reiki): This treatment utilizes reiki and other energy techniques to help clear blocked energy within the body. It can also help to assist the client in clearing old traumas and emotions that are being stored in the body creating dysfunction. This session is deeply relaxing, calming the nervous system and body. Sometimes this session includes some guided mediation and visualization techniques to help further clear blockages.
Reflexology: Reflexology is the manual manipulation (massage) of the feet in order to stimulate, through subtle energy reflexes, the various parts of the body to promote health and wellbeing. The therapist utilizes different types of pressure and strokes on specific areas of the feet to reduce stress and tension, increase circulation and blood flow, and calm the nervous system.
Chair Massage: This is an effective way to produce therapeutic results in a short period of time by using special chairs that can be set up in smaller spaces while I perform over-the-clothes massages. It's a great intro to massage and a fun and unique way to treat guests at weddings, work meetings, parties, and more. Please contact me via email to book your next event.
Ayurveda
Ayurveda originates in India and is one of the oldest medical systems in the world. It is based on the principle that if your doshas are out of balance it causes disease and dysfunction. Your dosha is your constitution, the way the elements in the natural world show up in your body. The three doshas are Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, and they all have a unique balance within individuals that is important to maintain for wellness. Ayurvedic bodywork uses specific movements, oils, and techniques to help keep the doshas in balance.
Abhyanga: The Abhyanga treatment uses specific oils and manipulations of the tissues of the body to help bring the doshas back to balance. It is most beneficial for the vata dosha, however helps to bring pitta and kapha back to balance as well. Abhyanga is like a choreographed dance in which the practitioner follows the same protocol on each limb of the body to bring balance to the nervous system, encourage vata to leave the muscles and return home to the intestines. It also helps to remove old energy that is no longer serving you. It is deeply relaxing and nourishing for the mind, body, and spirit. It is also beneficial for the lymphatic, cardiovascular, nervous, and energy systems of the body.
Tandem Abhyanga: This treatment is a form of "mirror massage." It is a step up from the traditional Abhyanga to include two therapists working simultaneously, synchronizing the pressure of the work, the speed of the work, and the intention of the work on both sides of the body at once. Tandem Abhyanga expands on the benefits of solo Abhyangas by helping to balance the hemispheres of the brain while still bringing the doshas into balance, removing stagnant energy, and increasing blood flow. To book this service, please contact us directly via email.
Therapeutic Abhyanga: This session combines the calming and nourishing Abhyanga treatment with the more direct and focused approach of therapeutic massage. The client's unique needs and goals for the session will determine if the Abyhanga portion or the therapeutic portion of the session will come first. Combining these two treatments into one allows for deep changes throughout the body, mind, and energy system.

They are chilled and then the smooth stones are gently placed or rolled over the face and neck to aid inflamed muscles, stimulate blood flow, and encourage the body to flush toxins. This add on is performed during your booked session time.
Crown and Face Massage: Extends your session by 10 minutes to allow more focus on face and head massage.

MLD Face Drainage: Extends your session by 10 minutes by using manual lymphatic drainage techniques on the face and head.
Lemon Detox Foot Massage: Using a full lemon, sea salt, and castor oil to exfoliate and draw out toxins from the body through the feet.
